Seans 2-07 Emyvale 2-07
A last gasp fisted point secured a share of the spoils and our first league point of the
season on Sunday last when Emyvale were visitors to club head quarters. Battling against
the elements in the opening half Emyvale appeared to be in pole position at the interval,
managing to restrict Mc Dermots to just a two point cushion, the half time scoreboard
reading Seans 0- 5 Emyvale 0 - 3. James Treanor (3) and Patrick Kieran (2) were Sean's
scorers, Treanor's 7th minute effort a real beauty from way out on the wing, Emyvale
relied on the thrusty boot of Darren Farmer to keep them in touch. Wind assisted
Emyvale attacked with fervour but fullback Emylin Clerkin cut out a misdirected pass
two minutes after the restart. He carried, then laid off to Patrick Kieran, Kieran's
thirty metre pass found Stephen Mc Elvaney and he finished the best move of the match
with an exquisite shot to the corner of the net, great move, great goal!
