Senior Ladies Championship
Our senior ladies secured a fantastic away win against Monaghan Harps on Saturday evening in their third championship outing. The victory sees the team secure their place in the championship semi-final, where they will face Inniskeen on Sunday, 6th September. This is a fantastic achievement for a team in transition, which has developed a great blend of youth and experience throughout the campaign. The progress made by the group has been excellent to see, and they can now look forward to a well-deserved semi-final. Well done to all the players and coaches on a great result and a superb achievement.

Round three of the championship series had us hosting Toome on Saturday evening last. On the back of one draw and one defeat, the lads were anxious to get the win and build the confidence. A strong start by the Seans paved the way for an early lead, with a number of points and a penalty kick. The visitors remained very persistent and kept the pressure on in the first period, but still went to the break down by two. The second half would put the Seans into a ten-point advantage after two goals in quick succession, but a flurry of scores and goalmouth dramas afforded the visitors a couple of goals in a short purple patch and, all of a sudden, they were back in the game. A few adjustments, cool heads and a couple of scores stemmed the flow, and eventually, we closed out the win by five points. We have now moved ourselves into a great position to progress, if we can maintain the momentum. A break this weekend will rest the bodies until Sunday, the 6th of September, when we head to Rockcorry

Well done to our U16 girls who came from behind against Castleblayney on Tuesday night to rack up a memorable home win a book their championship semi final spot with Scotstown in the coming weeks. Sheer grit and determination took them over the line for win and fully deserved on the night.

On Saturday we hosted the final U8 /U10 Boys blitz for the year. Teams from Truagh and Tyholland made the journey, where all the skills and fitness were on display for all to see. Congratulations to the coaches for their trojan work all year and to the players we must commend their great enthusiasm for games all year.

Condolences
The club would like to extend its sincere sympathy to the family of Paddy Coyle, Rooskey, who passed away recently. Paddy was a valued committee member and coach with the club for many years, and his contribution and commitment will be fondly remembered. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. May he rest in peace.
