Senior Men League Our senior men suffered another defeat in league on Friday last when Blackhill were are visitors. In an non-eventful first half, we only managed four points which gave or competitors a four point lead at the break. A little revival in the second period brought us back within a score but, alas, goals win games and it only took a single one to give Blackhill the upper hand and see out the win. It has been disappointing for the lads not to have the points rewarded for the effort they have been exerting in training. We must head to Toome this Friday for round eight of the competition. Things can only get better, looking from the bottom up.
500 KICKS Senior Men’s Fundraiser Our 500 kicks fundraiser on Saturday last, brought together the Legends and the Wannbes for the clubs latest fundraising gig. The aim, although not always apparent on the day, was to kick as many of the 500 balls over the bar. Our Legends gave the young whippersnappers a run for their money, but, it was never about who is or was the best but an evening of friends and clubmates meeting socially and raising funds. The chief organisers, Odhran Larkin and Daithi McMahon, would like to thank all the participants, all the helpers and all those who purchased a guess. In the end, 165 was the magic number, and, with nobody guessing exactly, there were three closest guesses, Ciaran Murphy, Adrian Forde and Eileen McMahon. Well done to all involved.
