Junior League
Round seven of the league and Emyvale were are visitors last Friday evening. Ideal conditions for the game given the wind and rain that had come and gone all week. However, the conditions were of no benefit to ourselves as we stumbled into the first half, failing to get to grips with the opposition. While we converted some chances, we were in catch up mode for the first thirty minutes having conceded two goals and the half concluded with us five points in arrears. Take two, and we upped the pace and intensity to pressurise our guests. Scores were exchanged and, despite our huge effort, we fell behind further. At the mid-way stage we were eight points adrift, and this seemed to spur a comeback as we kicked five unanswered points in the third quarter. Possibly too little too late as the clock would beat any chance of getting a result in this contest. Emyvale were full value for their four point win but we had improved in the second half and on another day could have sneaked a win or a draw. We break for a week as the Reserves take to the stage in league and championship games.
