Scor Na nÓg
Another milestone was reached in our Clubs Cultural history, as our Ballad Group captured the Ulster title at home on Saturday last. The Sean Mac Diarmada Club were hosts of the Scór na nÓg finals once again, and Clubs from all over the province came to compete in the various disciplines of the competition. Our Ballad Group were on song on the night and all the hard work by themselves and their coaches had paid off as we scooped the Ulster crown in this category. We must commiserate with our Novelty Act who were also part of the final, and excellent on the night, but were pipped at the end by County Antrim. Our Cultural Officer, Collette McNelis, and her fellow mentors must be commended on their commitment in the preparation for the Scór. A massive effort by everybody now sees us through to the All Ireland Finals at the end of January. All roads will lead to Killarney for the competition and we wish them well. The Executive Committee would like to thank all those who helped in any way over the weekend. When the Club takes on a task, we pride ourselves on delivering a top quality result, and once again we did. This would not be possible without the cooperation and assistance of our committee members but also those club members who are so dependable when called upon for any event and put their shoulder to the wheel. Thank you.
