Junior Championship Rd.1

At the time of going to press, the Club is awaiting guidelines on our opening game with Aghabog on Saturday 25th July at 7pm. With the current restrictions on public outdoor gatherings, it would appear, that 200 people would be our limit. In this event it would be likely we would have a lottery style draw for tickets. People wishing to participate will have already registered their interest with the Club Secretary. This arrangement will hopefully become much clearer as week the progresses but any updates or notices will be published on all our social media platforms.

Bingo is delayed

It was with much disappointment that our scheduled return to Bingo has been delayed. The guidelines maintain that no more than 50 people can meet indoors therefore we were unable to comply. However, we are anticipating that this will hopefully be increased in the coming weeks and we are planning for Monday 10th August as our revised start, with Wednesday the 12th August our follow up date. Tickets for the first night will go on sale , on-line, on Friday 7th August.

We will adhere to the Government guidelines regarding indoor gatherings and if we feel it is in any way unsafe to continue then we will not proceed with any further events. We hope this will be the first positive step for a full return to our normal bingo night in the coming months as the potential of further relaxing of restrictions increases.

Juveniles

Our U17’s travelled to Corduff in their opening championship game last Friday night. In a wet and windswept evening, Seans na Mullai , could not get to grasps with the conditions or the opposition. The home team built a commanding lead and never relinquished this running out comprehensive winners in the end. Its always difficult to travel away for the opening game and hopefully they can build on this.

The U13 squad had their first game on Saturday , at home to Killeeevan. The game was a rip roaring tussle from the off with both teams going at it with full throttle. The Seans played a canny game and picked off their scores while stifling the plucky Killeevan attack. As the game progressed , the home team, increased their lead and eventually had enough daylight between them to see out the game safe and sound with a win.

Totto

Why not play our totto at www.seanmcdermotts.net, via our club app and at McEntees or Lynchs shops in the village.

Next weeks jackpot will be €5500.

Club App

It is essential that all players and juvenile parents download the club app and be included in their respective groupings. This app will be required for all events, such as, training, games and general notifications. All members should download Club Zap free from the app store or google play store. They then select the club to follow, where there will be regular updates and news items to keep in touch with what is happening. Please also go to the club website at www.seanmcdermotts.net for all items relating to the club. Please note that it is envisaged that the regular form of communication with players and parents will be discontinued in coming weeks.

Sympathy

The club would like to extend sympathies to the Lennon family from Ballybay and the McElvaney family from Corcaghan on the recent passing of Mrs. Mary Lennon (nee McElvaney).
