Junior Football League

Round 4 of the Junior League took Killeevan to the Seans on Sunday afternoon. Always an intriguing fixture with neither side keen to give up the bragging rights. The visitors had the squally gusts advantage in the first half and capitalised well with some good long range scores. However the lads kept their tally ticking over and with the help of a goal and they had cancelled out Killeevans lead. A couple of late scores before half time and it was advantage to the visitors. With the prospect of the breeze at our backs we had a little assistance to get a grip of the game. We began to see flashes of play which brought us in front midway through the half. However the tourists would not willingly release their clasp on the contest and they maintained a dogged approach which would test the lads all the way to the final whistle. A couple of scores from the Seans in final minutes and writing was finally on wall with a four point win. Nothing easy here, the norm for Junior League, but we had wrestled well for our first two points for the year. It was great to see players returning from injury and some debutants. Someone once said, a lot done more to do, this could be our current predicament but with the championship just around the corner its steady as she goes.

Sean Ogs

It was great to see the Sean Ogs on hand to provide the half time entertainment during the seniors game. A great display from our minutest members as they were cheered on by their adoring fans and parents. Patrick Kieran was at helm guiding them through the game and blowing the whistle to keep order. Well done to all involved.
