Junior Championship

Once again a rain soaked Scotstown was the venue for our quarter final with Killeevan on Saturday last. Now, at the business end of the competition, it’s a winner takes all and there was no way back. The Seans must have had this vision from very early on as they thundered into a commanding lead by the first water break. Some our hardier annuals rolled back the years and managed to etch their names on score the sheet which certainly gave the team and supporters something to crow about. By half time the scoreboard may have belied our opponents efforts as they gave as good as they got without converting the chances. However after the interval Killeevan did have a little flurry of scores but it wasn’t enough. The Seans continued to increase their tally and dominate in all areas of the park and even having been hit with a black card the result was not in doubt. A comprehensive win was exactly what the doctor ordered to build the confidence. There will be no resting on their laurels as Oram will be next in the frame on Saturday at 2pm in Inniskeen. This encounter will certainly be a hot bed of fire and the Championship Final place will be the prize. Please come out and support the team.

Wedding Bells

The bells are once again tolling and another innocent has been captured by the claws of matrimony. Maybe that’s too dramatic , as I’m fairly sure he’s quite willing to tie the knot. Our longstanding full back and assistant treasurer, Ashley Maguire will take the plunge on Saturday with his intended, Hannah. We wish them the best of luck on their big day and many happy years together. Twitter will be available during the ceremony.
