Intermediate Championship

After our mini break, the lads will travel to Blackhill on Saturday at 3pm to conclude our round robin championship series of games. We return to the scene of our first defeat earlier in the year and need to put that to rights. The permutations of win lose, or draw would take the skill of Einstein to work out. However, a win, is all we have in our sights on. Support is always essential and never more so on Saturday where the rallying cheers of the travelling fans always lift the team.

U13’s

The 13’s entertain Clones on Saturday morning at 11am. Having suffered defeat in the opening championship game, a win and good performance is needed.

U15’s

The 15’s where visitors to a hostile Inniskeen on Thursday last for their second championship game. From the start the home side dominated all over the park and punished all our mistakes. By half time, having scored ten points, we were still twelve behind. In an almost impossible scenario, but the second half seemed to trigger the revival. In a matter of minutes, we had rifled five unanswered points over the bar and the comeback was on. Throw in a couple of goals, a penalty, a red card and a few more points and the game was at boiling point as the clocked ticked away. In the thirtieth, minute we finally equalised and had we been a little more fortunate could have sneaked a winner. That said a second half tally of 2-11 was a more than creditable return for the hard work they showed. Next up is our final game in the series , at home to Emyvale, on Thursday at 7pm. Once again, the support of juvenile teams is essential.

U17’s

The 17’s championship came a stuttering halt on Monday night as Cremartin were our guests. With only two games in the series, and having lost the first, nothing less than a win would be good enough. The early signs were good and we were playing good football and converting chances. However, as the half drew to a close, the visitors gathered speed and managed to get the break all square. The second period became a nightmare, as our plans fell asunder, and we began to concede goals. The domination of Cremartin eventually pushed us to defeat and the curtain was down on our season. The Club would like to thank the players and coaches for their hard work and commitment. Having suffered defeat in the league final, there was the hope of championship glory, but it wasn’t to be.
